Being in a family of five, you would think I’ve learned how to share. Well, I do. But not when it comes to beverages. I would rather buy you your own. If I have a hot chocolate, each one of my kids want a drink. The aftermath of that is not good. So I just say “a round of hot chocolates for everyone!” And just like that, everyone is happy.

See, I read that you are supposed to drink half of your body weight in ounces of water each day. Now I’m not certain if that’s true, but I do good to get twenty ounces in a day. And I get less water if I have to share it. Also, if I am going to drink a lot of water, I don’t want it to be tap water. Yuck! I want purified water, and I want it cold. How cold? When our family is out at the zoo on a hot summer day, I freeze water bottles the day before, so they stay cold longer while we are out.
Now when it comes to coffee, the opposite is true. I want it hot. I want it so hot that five minutes after I have poured it into my cup, I put it in the microwave to heat it up again.
Another thing is that our family is on the go. There have been moments we have eaten Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal in the car. I have at times poured my coffee in my daughter’s princess sippy cup and headed out the door.
Well, things have changed in the Woods household. I got a Thermalock Thermal Bottle from Contigo.Â
And let me tell you, it has made my life so much easier.
I have traded in my daughter’s sippy cup for a thermal bottle that keeps my coffee hot for 30 hours. This means that I can have hot coffee every waking moment of my day without the microwave.
When I fill it with cold water, it stays cold for 45 hours. That’s practically two days! I must admit that there have been times it has taken me two days to drink a bottle of water. Don’t ask me why. But now I know it will stay cold the whole time.
What’s also great is that the lid doubles as a cup and the thermal bottle, when closed, is leak proof. This is good because my mug that says, “like a boss” on the side is not leak proof.
Anything that makes my life a little easier and can go wherever I go is music to my ears. Does this mean that I need to get everyone in my family one of these? Hmm.
