Who doesn’t love Disney World? In the words of my 10-year-old daughter, “It’s heaven on earth!” After all, it is the happiest place on earth. And I am here to say that the rides are amazing, the shows are top notch and the magic is real!

I would love to say that you will have a great experience no matter what time of year you go. But after taking the kids to Disney World several times, we quickly learned that fall was one of the best times to go. I am sure that a case can be made to go other times in the year. But I have put together some very compelling reasons why the fall beats them all! So counting down from 10 to 1 here are the top 10 reasons why fall is the best time to go to Disney World:

10. Fall Break and Thanksgiving Break – For people with kids, these breaks help kids not miss as many school days while going on vacation.

9. The Water Parks Are Still Open – If you want to check out how Disney does water parks then Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are open until close to the end of October.

8. Eat To The Beat Concert Series – What’s better than being in Disney World? How about hearing some amazing artists in concert like Boyz II Men? And even better, the concerts are included in your cost to get into Epcot.

7. International Food and Wine Festival – I am all about food! And at Epcot, there are around 35 marketplace booths that feature amazing food from all over the world! Also, the “Eat To The Beat Concert Series” takes place at the same park during the same time. Check out more info here.

6. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party – If you go in early November, you can get some of the perks of going to Disney World and go to one of the best Christmas experiences that Disney World has to offer.

5. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party – Do you want to take your kids to the biggest Halloween party on earth? This is it! There is so much to see and your kids get to go trick-or-treating through the park. The Boo-To-You Parade is off the charts and let me tell you that the Headless Horseman is legit!

4. Cheaper Resort Prices and Availability – As opposed to the rest of the year, October dates can offer some reasonable resort prices along with more availability for rooms. And there are a host of good reasons to stay on one of the resorts that I’ll have to save for another time.

3. Free Meal Plans – Here is one that many people may not know about. I can’t say that this happens every year, but from time to time, Disney offers a free meal plan. They usually include 2 quick service meals and 2 snacks per day, per person. That also includes a soft drink, specialty drink or an alcoholic drink. We usually upgrade our plan to replace one quick service meal with a table service meal.

2. The Weather – You may have heard this is one of the main reasons to go in the fall and for good reason. The happiest place on earth can also be the hottest place on earth but come October, the humidity really starts to taper off. This makes the experience of Disney even better!

1. You Don’t Wait In Line As Long – This is our number one reason to go in the fall. You’ve saved your money for this special vacation and you’ve made the long trip with your kids and luggage. Do you really want to spend most of your time waiting in line? Well with Disney, they handle the “waiting in line thing” better than any other theme park. They are extremely efficient and the lines are continuously moving. So you never find yourself standing in one spot for too long. But after you have used up your fast passes, you will still feel like your zipping through the lines faster than you would most other times of the year.
