My wife and I like most couples usually can’t agree on where to eat. Many times when she picks a place, I’m not feeling it, and if I choose a place, she gives me the look. Now add three kids into the picture and how picky they can be and you have us driving around in circles because we can’t agree on one place. My kids are very opinionated about what they eat. They have no problem expressing it. And the range of food that they do like is a total of about five things. That includes pizza, chicken nuggets, candy, ice cream and cookies.
Tom and Chee invited us to sample their menu for free. All opinions are my own.
So when we got an invite to try the first Tom and Chee restaurant to open in Oklahoma City for free, I was happy and a little nervous. I mean my daughter hates grilled cheese sandwiches. I told my kids that while we tried the food that if they don’t like something, then instead of saying they hate it, say that they would prefer one menu item over another.
But let me tell you that we have finally found a restaurant that the whole family loves.
I remember watching Tom and Chee get a deal on the TV show Shark Tank. And ever since I saw that episode, I have wanted to eat there. Our experience kicked off with their outstanding staff! The restaurant was virtually full, but I watched how they were very attentive and had smiles on their faces.
Once you order, they bring the food to your table. And our wait was very short. We ordered several sandwiches, two desserts and two soups.
As we all started eating, I waited for one of my kids to say they didn’t like something that we ordered. And then I waited some more. After a few moments, I realized that nobody was talking. They were all eating. And I can genuinely say that there were no complaints whatsoever. My kids loved everything at the table! As for my wife and I, we both knew it was going to be good and we were not disappointed. My favorite above all else was the grilled cheese donut. The kids couldn’t decide. They loved everything!
Tom and Chee allows their franchisees to make some changes as long as it doesn’t change the overall concept and heart of who they are as a company. And at the Oklahoma City location, I spoke with Khurso, Rocky and Lish and I can tell they are incredibly proud of their restaurant. They spoke about their fantastic menu options that virtually anyone from any background with any food requirements can enjoy. For example, they have beef bacon for those who do not eat pork. Even better, any pork products are either replaced with beef or turkey. It is a place where vegans all the way to meat lovers can find several items to choose from. They also have gluten-free options as well.
They also let me know that all of their meats are seasoned and brined there at the restaurant. Everything and I mean everything is made fresh daily. Whatever is left over, is given out to the surrounding businesses. There are no fryers, freezers or microwaves. Now you can see why they are so proud. And they should be.

I”ve never heard of this place, but it looks delicious! My parents live in Wichita, so we are in the “Oklahoma City Area” a few times a year – we will have to give it a try!
