I want to tell you our favorite pet care tip. But let me back up for a second and tell you how we got here. My daughter backed me into a corner one day and asked in the sweetest voice “can we get a dog?” The boys chimed in right behind her and before I knew it, they were pouring it on pretty thick. I’m the kind of guy that if I see a kid selling candy bars, I will have to avoid them. Because if I don’t, I will succumb and buy one…or two. I can’t say no to little kids. So when my own kids are all giving me the puppy dog eyes and begging for a dog, I usually say “ask your mother.” But I looked at them in my moment of weakness and said: “how about a cat?” I’m allergic to cats by the way. But my thought was at least it could live mostly outside, It wouldn’t bark at night. And cats are just more easy going in general. With excitement in their eyes, they all yelled a resounding “YES!“
We received a Pet Pita in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.
That same day we were driving home with Whiskers, our new member of the family. She has been a great addition and the kids love her. It took a few weeks for her to get used to us and she is still skittish from time to time, but she has been awesome nonetheless.
Before Whiskers, we never considered ourselves pet people. It doesn’t mean we didn’t try. We’ve had 10 fish, two crabs, a hamster and yes, even a dog briefly. All of the fish died, the two crabs never came out to see us, the hamster bit Lindsey, Truett and Gracie. And we were all too busy to give the dog the attention it needed.
So with Whiskers, we wanted to make sure that we were giving her the best care and that we put forth as much effort as possible to make it work. I noticed how hard it was to give her flee and tick medicine. It was a tube that you squeezed between her shoulder blades. Every time I did it, she would run off or get irritated that we were trying to keep her still while we squeezed it in.
Well, I’m going to tell you our favorite pet care tip.
If you have a dog or cat, you need a Pet Pita. In our case, we got the one for our cat called the Cat Pita. It’s designed for cats and allows you full access to the medicated and groomed areas while maintaining a safe environment for you and your pet. Let me tell you, it was night and day when we used the Cat Pita. She seemed very comfortable and calm, so I could give her the medication. She didn’t try to jump out and even after we were done, she didn’t seem too concerned with getting out. Even if she did try to get out, the Pet Pita is made in such a way that she can’t hurt herself or me. We would recommend it to anyone.
The Pet Pita is designed for small dogs and large cats and there is even a Pup Pita which allows you to lift and support either the front or rears hips and legs which is ideal for older dogs with hip dysplasia.
You can get more info here on their website. As it says on their site:
“We provide the safest and easiest way to handle, medicate, groom, and carry your cat or dog for an economical price.”
The Pet Pita is a must have if you own a cat or small dog. Â
